REVIEW: Bafang M510

Bafang M510 drive test for e-bikes. Tested on Apache Hupahu MX1 510.

Hardware:

• max. torque 95 Nm
• 48 V system
• magnesium body - drive weight 2.9 kg
• 840 Wh battery

Range test: - alternating 3-4-5 mode - 59km, 1277m climbed, 2 hours 31 minutes, remaining battery 24%, battery 840 Wh

Pros:

• sufficient engine power and torque (95 Nm)
• large clear display with USB charging
• affordability of the system
• the motor reacts even at a very low crank cadence

Cons:

• method of attaching the drive to the frame
• barely visible display in direct sunlight
