The Rocky Mountain Element Alloy 10 is a versatile "down country" bike with 120mm frame travel and 130mm fork travel. The aluminum frame offers the RIDE-4 geometry adjustment system.

Tuned specifically for riders of all sizes

The Thunderbolt and Element 2021 were placed in the lower-travel bike categories, with the noticeable differences between the two platforms mainly being wheel size, travel height, and the riding character that both platforms were created for. It was completely natural for us to connect these two platforms and thus achieve the desired balance. We have created an ideal!

Looking at the needs of smaller riders, we factored in the size of the wheels combined with the extra small frame. Our extra small frame (XS) is offered with 27.5 inch wheels to help smaller riders with acceleration, agility, and also lowers the ride height for a better fit and ride for smaller riders. Riders tall enough for S, M, L and XL frames will get their bike with 29 inch wheels. One of the goals in developing the new Element was to provide more support to the rider throughout the travel range, but without limiting rear wheel traction. We've improved the anti-squat to offer faster acceleration and reduce end stroke progression to facilitate access to the full stroke range. This redesigned kinematics will allow us to develop less pressure and damper, which leads to a smoother and quieter ride.

The frame is elaborated in detail and offers advanced geometry adjustment technologies.

The RIDE-4 adjustment system allows riders to quickly fine-tune the optimal geometry with the help of two Allen keys. Up to four configurations are possible thanks to one rotating chip. This allows for subtle geometry changes with minimal impact on damping properties.

Not all aluminum tubing is created equal. FORM is the key to the unique ride characteristics of Rocky Mountain bikes.
We only use Premium Materials that meet our strict requirements. Each FORM Tube has been specially designed for the respective application. The frame is designed and tailored for optimum durability, weight and stiffness.

Smoothlink suspension is efficient yet flexible when pedaling and shifting. It is characterized by controlled driving. This four-link suspension system philosophy is focused on handling; Each bike platform we develop is balanced in terms of its features such as anti-squat, axle lift, chainstay extension, suspension curve, anti-rise, etc. to deliver the legendary riding experience on a Rocky Mountain bike.

When it comes to damper settings, it depends on the size. Each of our bikes is equipped with a special shock absorber setting. The values for this tuning are based on our countless test rides, because no manufacturer's chart gives us more information than riding on the best trails in the world. Tuning by size is a step further. We will adjust the shock absorber settings according to the appropriate frame size. Now all riders can enjoy factory optimized shock kinematics with smooth response, good support and progressive damping properties.
